HISTORY

Restaurant Statt in Örnsköldsvik has a rich and varied history that reflects the city's development and changes in the hotel and restaurant industry.
Origins and early history
The building where Restaurang Statt is located was built between 1914 and 1915 and inaugurated on January 12, 1916. The architect behind the work was Verner Northun from Norrköping. The original building housed a hotel, restaurant, beer café, bank, dentist and doctor's surgery, and private residences. The banquet hall was adorned with wall decorations by the artist Carl Forslund, and the large crystal chandelier from that time still remains.
The restaurant's development
The restaurant was operated by an external company until 2014. In 2018, the restaurant reopened under the hotel's management. Unfortunately, it was forced to close in 2020 due to the pandemic, but reopened on July 12, 2022.
Current activities
